WARRANTY & DISCLOSURE STATEMENT
Protecting your Masonry in the winter months from snow and ice: You should not use any form of sat and/or/deicer products or kitty litter or Masonry. Even if the product says safe for masonry DO NOT use it, this will cause brick, flagstone, mortar and concrete to deteriorate. Using brown sand to melt ice and snow from your masonry surfaces is perfectly safe and will not harm the masonry, this can be purchase at any hardware store.
Efflorescence (Where does it come from?): A source of water soluble salts. Water moving through the material to carry the salts to the surface. The water evaporates and leaves a white powder behind. If this appears you just need to wash down the surface with a mild detergent and a scrub brush. After it dries apply a sealant if the temps are above 50 degrees and would help with the efflorescence.
- All debris caused by Z&G will be cleaned up and hauled away. Z&G will require access to water and electrical during the entire job process. Any direct excavated will be left on the site in a designated area unless otherwise noted on the contract. All work will be installed having the proper pitch away from the home to allow for the proper drainage. Z&G will take all precautions to protect landscaping however we are not responsible for any damages that may be caused due to the job installation.
- All concrete installations have a 1 year warranty, hairline cracks in concrete are not covered only cracks wider than (1”inch). The price is based on the removal and replacement of a 4’-5” thick concrete driveway, if it is determined that there is more than 5” of concrete that we have to remove additional charges will apply due to additional labor to remove as well as more materials needed to install this will be discussed with homeowner at time of removal. Z&G will not be responsible for the color of concrete it tends to be whitish to gray in color. If you choose to go with a color tinted concrete the end result can be slightly blotchy due to the curing/drying process, Z&G is not responsible for color variations. Do not use any salt or deicer products on your masonry it will cause it to deteriorate as well as void your warranty.
- For brick and flagstone installation and repairs the work has a 1 year warranty unless otherwise specified on the contract and initialed by a Z&G representative. All mortar will match as close as possible to the existing if it is a repair, it will take time for mortar to age and weather in order to match closely. All brick and flagstone work completed by Z&G will washed down using a masonry safe detergent. Please see below what is included and not included in the warranty.
- For paver installation over sand or brick and flagstone installed on a stone dust/sand base-Additional stone dust and/or concrete sand will need to be installed periodically as routine maintained by the customer.
- It is the customer’s responsibility to do preventative maintenance such as keeping the masonry cleaned sealed. If you choose to have it power washed not more than a 3000 psi and the sealer should be a water based sealer.
- All materials to be guaranteed as specified. All work to be completed in a workman like manner according to the standard practices. Any alteration or deviation from he contract specifications involving extra costs will be executed only upon written orders, and will become an extra charge over and above the estimate. All agreements are contingent upon strikes, accidents or delays beyond our control the above prices are valid for 30 days.
- Broken or cracked mortar joints on a concrete base
- Deteriorated joints within 1 year of a repair or new installation for brick and stone
- Loose stones or bricks - for stone dust base or concrete base
- Partial or complete collapsing of structure applies to all new installation
- Concrete Work (any crack wider than 1 inch) area's will be patched and repaired not replaced
- Deterioration of joints or masonry surfaces due to over exposure from water, mold, fungus and fire.
- Use of any chemical to clear or remove ice or snow from the surface.
- Partial or complete collapsing of the structure from any act of god. (Including hurricane, lightening, tornado, flood, fire, earthquake etc.)
- Cracking in masonry surfaces due to settling, shifting, and abuse from new construction by location of new work.
- Collision (human or mechanical)
- Improper use of structure (Heavy machinery or large delivery trucks).
- Concrete slabs, driveways, stoops, steps, patios & walkways: Hairline cracks, spallin or slab shifting due to water, snow exposure and deicer/salt products.
